ELECTRICAL INSULATION SAFETY MATS
METRO RUBBER CORPORATION
Rs 600 / Meter
All Insulating mats shall confirm to Latest edition of IS 15652
b) Upper surface of the insulating mats should have small aberration (rough surface without edges) in order to avoid slippery effects. Lower surface shall plane or could be finished with slip resistance without effecting dielectric property.
c) Mats of all classes shall be resistance to acid, oil and low temperature.
d) The mat shall be free on both the surfaces from physical irregularities like pin hole, crack, blisters, cuts, creases, pinch marks, embedded conductive element etc.
e) Tests: The insulating rubber mats shall pass tests with procedures described in IS 15652- latest edition.
f) Type test report shall be submitted as indicated in clause no 4.
g) Routine and sampling tests as per IS 15652 has to be conducted during the time of inspection.
h) Color : Color shall be as agreed between purchaser & the supplier, However no color with metallic derivatives shall be used
i) Composition: The insulating mat shall be made from the material-Elastomer, free from any insertions leading to deterioration of insulating properties
Flame Retardancy
It should be flame retardant i.e. fire should extinguish within 5 sec after removal of blue flame.
Low temperature resistance
The mat must not show any visible crack when folded after placing for one hour at a temperature of -10 +/- 3ยบ C as described in IS 15652.
Di-electric properties
SL no Class Di-electric Properties (RMS) AC proof Voltage (RMS)
i) A 30 kV 10 kV
ii) B 45 kV 22 kV
iii) C 65 kV 36 kV
Leakage current
Leakage current shall not be more than 10 milli Amps when measured as per IS 15652.
a) Insulating mats may be either of specific shape or in rolls to be cut for individual requirements.
b) Dimension: Length & width
Rolls of mat in multiple lengths of 5000 mm & in width of 1000 mm are preferred in order to minimize joints. However, insulating mats of specific shapes in length of 1000, 2000, 3000 mm & in width to be agreed as required by purchaser. The dimension shall be verified with the mat in flattened condition.
Tolerance on length & width shall be attended to the extent of +15 mm on size upto 600 mm & +20 mm for higher
Aging properties
Tensile strength and elongation at break when measured after subjecting the mat to age for 168 hours at 70 deg +/-1 degree centigrade shall not be less than 75 % of the corresponding values obtained for the unaged test pieces
Acid / Alkalis and oil resistance
Tensile strength and elongation values of the mat after conditioning in acid / alkalis and oil as per relevant clauses specified under IS 15652 shall not be less than 80% of the corresponding values obtained in tests carried out on samples from same batch without conditioning.
Mechanical properties:
a) Minimum tensile strength and elongation of mats for all classes at break, measured as described in relevant clauses are as mentioned below for ambient temperature ange of -10 deg C to 55 Deg C.
b) Tensile strength shall be 15 N/sq mm for amb. temp ( -10 to 55)
c) Elongation shall be 250 %
d) Mats of all classes will not show any visible break or crack when folded after placing for one hour at temp. of -10 to 3 deg C as described in C-4.2.These shall also pass ac proof voltage test as per 7.2.2.
e) For ambient temp.-40 to 27 Deg C tensile strength 12 N/mm Sqr & Elongation percent 350.
Marking:
Every roll /flat will be marked with minimum following:
a) Class, Category, Thickness
b) Lot No
c) Roll No.
d) Manufacturer's identity
